SELECTED FOOD & BEVERAGE SHOTS BY CHRIS PALM
About Chris Palm
Chris has been working as a photographer for the majority of his adult life. Inspired by the fine art scene of Santa Fe, he initially focused on large format fine art works and was as involved in the printing process as he was capturing the image. In 2003 he threw in the towel on his day job and started working on commercial photography projects. Being based in Singapore, the natural subject matter of focus was food and travel, which aligned with two of his favourite past times. In 2004 he received the Epson global imaging award and in 2005 he published his first coffee table book “Abstractions on the Road in Asia”, a travel anthology of black and white photographs capturing the heart of Asia. The book was well received and many of the related prints have been included in private collections and or republished in American Express Travel magazines.
In recent years, Chris has begun exploring lifestyle concepts and applying them to corporate photography. He enjoys working with clients that are willing to take chances with their brand imagery or need to redefine their public image. In the age of media saturation, photography is the perfect medium for storytelling and to initiate a dialogue with consumers. Chris has worked with companies like Monsanto and Shell to highlight positive impacts these companies have made on real people’s lives.
For Chris, photography is about storytelling. Whether it is the prelude to a delicious course of tuna with beetroot capellini or the impact higher yielding crops are having on farmers in Central Java, photography should captivate and leave us interested enough to want more.
In Singapore Chris is represented by Orientography.
