Our Weekend Getaways are so much fun! They offer three demonstrations cooking classes, two nights accommodation and two breakfasts at fine accommodations stateside. Located in beautiful Asheville, North Carolina, you’ll enjoy our themed classes – sure to please even the most discerning palate. Enjoy a meal following each cooking class demonstration complete with wine and printed recipes for you to take home and dazzle your own guests at your next dinner party.

European Vacations: Barcelona, Spain

Culinary Vacations Barcelona

Come visit Barcelona, Spain, one of Europe’s hottest vacation spots.

Getting There

Our accommodations in a newly decorated manor house near Carentan could not be more perfect. Fully renovated, the house has four bedrooms, each with en suite bath. Kick back after a fun day of cuisine and sightseeing by the lovely pond behind the house. The Norman way of life is relaxing, invigorating and delicious!

We stay at The Sweet Biscuit Inn, located just blocks away from the famous Biltmore Village and downtown Asheville. Classes begin Friday evening, continue on Saturday and finish Sunday morning, providing lots of opportunity to mingle, learn, taste and enjoy!

About Chef John Wilson

John Wilson is a certified chef and a graduate of the prestigious Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. After working for more than two decades in the restaurant industry, Chef Wilson started Culinary Vacations, Inc. a cooking school vacation in Europe, which has grown to five locations; Normandy and Provence, France, Tuscany and Venice/Maser, Italy and Barcelona/Manresa, Spain.  And he is always interested in adding more locations.

Culinary Vacations also offers “Weekend Gourmet Getaways” in beautiful Asheville, North Carolina and Atlanta, Georgia as another destination to the programs.  Two truly lovely spots in this world to get away! 

Chef Wilson has combined his love of food, wine and travel with his knowledge as a certified professional to bring his expertise to the table in Europe.  With more than 22 years of teaching experience it’s a pleasure to learn from this well-traveled and seasoned chef. 

Chef John Wilson has appeared on ABC, CBS and CNN as a guest chef.  He also writes for local newspapers and periodicals and is currently working on two more books: A Tuscany Wine Country Cookbook and the second in his Tales Series about his years in Provence, France, and hopefully more to follow, Tales From A Tuscan Table –10 years of cooking class misadventures and culinary mayhem in glorious Tuscany, with recipes from the region was self published in 2007.

Chef Wilson is also available for private group dinner party cooking classes in Roswell, Georgia and beyond as well as custom groups of a minimum of four in either of his locations in Europe when time permits.
